Pacific Life Foundation Awards $75,000 in College Scholarships During  September’s Life Insurance Awareness Month

Five $15,000 Scholarships Given to Students Who Lost a Parent Without Life Insurance

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Oct. 15, 2024 – The Pacific Life Foundation has awarded five $15,000 college scholarships through Life Happens (www.LifeHappens.org) and its annual Life Lessons Scholarship Program to aid the financial burden of students who have lost a parent without life insurance. The scholarships were part of September’s Life Insurance Awareness Month, designed to help educate individuals on the importance and benefits of life insurance. For the seventh consecutive year, scholarships were awarded to students in states where Pacific Life employees live and work. Recipients include Damarion T., Heaven L., and Skylar K. from California; Rylee N. from Nebraska; and Jania B. from Virigina.

“Losing a parent is unfathomable, especially when children are faced with a new world of financial responsibilities,” said Tennyson Oyler, president of the Pacific Life Foundation. “The Life Lessons Scholarship Program resonates deeply with Pacific Life employees and the Pacific Life Foundation as it cements the important role life insurance has in protecting families and providing financial security.”

To date, the Foundation has provided more than $525,000 in college scholarships through Life Happens. This year, nearly 200 Pacific Life employees participated in the review of hundreds of scholarship applications.
